Recently revealed was the original Protoss Observer. After reading the article behind the release, it looks like the new observer won't be any different than the one in the original StarCraft.

The Terran's Sensor Tower is the newest revelance. With this addition, the Terrans upgrade their already impressive recon abilities. The Sensor Tower is a long range survelliance tool which can be used to observe all enemy movements within range. The Sensor Tower does NOT see through the fog of war; rather, it identifies enemy unit positions with a "?". The new recon system apparently has the drawback of revealing its location on the minimap to enemy players. Just how 'long' its range is, whether it can identify enemy structures, and just how the enemy is made aware of its location has yet to be seen.
